MEET AMY

Amy Dean is a seasoned producer with over 15 years of experience in media, events, and all things communication. As the founder of RiseUp Communication, she helps clients turn event chaos into calm—untangling scattered ideas and version control nightmares to create smooth, memorable events where every detail is accounted for. She thrives on building trust, bringing ideas to life, and guiding teams to success.

Amy also pours her passion into the Muddy Waters MOJO Museum, where she’s helped shape everything from the brand to board meetings, while also supporting fundraising and outreach efforts. As board secretary, she’s been a force behind its mission to preserve and celebrate cultural heritage, collaborating with powerhouse institutions like the Smithsonian and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

When she’s not producing or preserving, she’s publishing—Amy is the author of The Culinary Kid Makes Soup (2020) and The Culinary Kid Makes a Smoothie (2024), playful books that introduce kids to gardening, cooking, and creativity. Her stories encourage little ones to get their hands dirty (in the garden and the kitchen!) and use their imaginations. Check out www.theculinarykidbooks.com to learn more.

Amy’s also deeply committed to maternal health advocacy. She’s written and spoken widely on the subject, and also served on the Wisconsin Perinatal Quality Collaborative. She’s trained with the Preeclampsia Foundation and led communications for the first Multicultural Maternal Mental Health Conference. In 2019 she was presented with a joint resolution in the WI State Assembly and Senate declaring May 2019 “Wisconsin Motherhood Month”

Oh, and she's on the PTA, of course. Who else would volunteer to plan all the social events, take type-A meeting minutes, and make sure everything runs smoothly and according to plan?

Earlier in her career, Amy served as Executive Producer/Director at Tri-Marq Communications, managing video, animation, and live event projects, earning industry recognition with multiple Telly, W3, and MarCom awards. She’s a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Marquette University with a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication and a minor in Marketing, and she studied abroad at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

Whether she’s planning an event, writing a book, or speaking to a crowd, Amy brings creativity, clarity, and purpose to everything she does—always working to inspire change, connect people, and tell stories that matter.
